E-learning.

Everyday in our lives we learn things from each other, the interaction with people gives us the opportunity to widen our horizons, to get inspired. Can e-learning help us or would it rather limit us to the virtual interaction?
The internet provides us more information then any professor, is deeper and broad...but do we study only to learn? As humans, after we learn, we will use our knowledge in life and make use of it in contact with the others, exchanging our ideas. For this reason, in my opinion it is always better to confront our ideas with a real person, and check it out after all together.
Acquiring knowledge only via internet can cause deficiency in social skills. To enable people to develop normally, we need to give them the opportunity to meet the other real person's perception, to discuss.
What's your opinion about e-learning?
Here you can find the article which made me think about the e-learning process.

The "tip-of-the-tongue" state.

Hey!

This time I will be talking a bit about the memory. How does it work that sometimes we remember the proper names which the others don't, and other times we forget what the others remember? We see many places in this world, we meet a huge amount of people, what makes it complicated to remember every name and word. There are some studies about this state of forgetting words in a certain moment, called tip-of-the-tounge state. One example of the scientists who study this subject is Lise Abrams, a psychologist from the University of Florida. The researchers found out also sign language users suffer from this state, in their case called "tip-of-the-finger state".

The words we use less frequently are the ones we draw blanks on. One of the ways you can handle this struggle is to say the word you forget out loud as many times as you can, in different contexts. The best way would be reviewing the information which we use to forget. At first review it many times, then every time do it less, it will make your memory stronger. Just before you go to sleep, you should review the information you wish to remember.
Everyone feels frustrated when it comes to forgetting what we want to express. One good method of finding the missed information in our brain is to look for the context to the memory (for example the time of the day, the people present, the weather, and so on).

Do you have any alternative ideas of practising your memory?

Hi folks!

To introduce myself, I can tell you some basic information about who I am. My name is Marta, I like the nature, the people and the world. From my observations these three terms contribute to the Universe as our, in my perception, really small planet called Earth.

First of all, I would like to explain you the reason why I named this blog "A small handkerchief".
The title derives from the proverb "The world is a handkerchief", which has a literal translation in Spanish (my second language) "El mundo es un pañuelo". It means that wherever we go, we meet people who are connected with us directly or indirectly. In fact all of us are not only "in the flesh" connection with the world but also in a virtual relation. By the internet we can see most of the places the world has to offer us. Isn't the world small? Isn't it as a "small handkerchief"?

Where is Spring?

Hey, I suppose that all of us are waiting for Spring to come, at least I am looking forward to find her trace. Personally, I got tired of ...
